KDPaine & Partners “Do-It-Yourself Dashboard” combines a web-based application professional consulting to enable PR professionals to produce their own customized PR Dashboards. “There are thousands of PR professionals who want to be more accountable, who want to measure their success in a credible, meaningful way, but who don’t have the budget to use an outside research firm. We developed this program for them,” explains Katie Delahaye Paine, CEO and founder of KDPaine & Partners. “When I started this company, I decided I would use my years of experience in research and evaluation to help smaller organizations define their objectives and set up measurement programs that adhered to the Institute for Public Relations Guidelines. What I found was many PR practitioners trying to track their success with homegrown programs, many of which measured outputs unrelated to their organization’s goals—or worse, yielded results that were simply wrong. If the client has his/her own clips they would enter the basic information into the application, hit a button and the client’s charts would be produced. If they don’t have the clips, they could import data from Factiva or Nexis Lexis into the system, code the clips themselves, and again, instantly produce the requisite charts. “The system is designed to grow with the clients needs,” explained Paine. “So if they start with just a few clips a month, they can do it themselves and, when the volume justifies outsourcing that too can be accommodated within the DIY Dashboard.” “For years we’ve heard people complain about how measurement was too expensive, so we spent two years developing a system that makes measurement affordable to everyone,” said Oliver Gaudissart, Chief Technology Officer of KDPaine & Partners and developer of the product.
